Grand Teton National Park Poster - Vintage WPA Design

While the country was reeling from the impact of the 1929 Wall Street Crash and the following Great Depression, Franklin D. Roosevelt's government created programs for the many Americans who had found themselves out of work. One of these, The Works Progress Administration, and its subdivision - the Federal Arts Project - was tasked with improving infrastructure in the national parks and creating art that encouraged the public to visit the national parks.

14 posters are known to have been created for various parks and monuments. This Jenny Lake Grand Teton National Park poster is one of the most iconic. National Parks Partnership has painstakingly restored the black and white and color scans of the original poster to create this version. which is as close to the colors and look of the original as possible.
